Young was most recently managing director for Landmark Optimus for around three years, a conveyancing and survey panel management firm. He was previously managing director at Aventria, which was acquired by DMGT and renamed Landmark Optimus.
Prior to that he was chief commercial officer for John Charcol for around two years and before that he worked at UKS Technology for nearly seven years in various roles.
L&C also confirmed Adam Connolly has been hired as chief commercial officer, who was commercial and strategy director at Landmark Optimus for around two years.
Before that he was sales director for Smoove for nearly eight years and prior to that he was regional manager for Kensington Mortgages for over two years. He also worked at Countrywide as a mortgage and protection manager.
Young and Connolly join L&C from 1 November.
The L&C board thanked Chris Mills for the “leadership and guidance that has built the foundation for the business to look forward to exciting growth prospects ahead under Young’s leadership”.
Mills has been with L&C for nearly two years, initially joining at chief finance and risk officer before being appointed chief executive.
Young said: “I am tremendously excited by the opportunity to lead the senior management team at such an established and highly respected company as L&C.
“With such a strong brand in the industry, a key aim will be to continue to seek out opportunities to further develop and grow the business over the coming months.”
