Pepper Money appoints McGrath as second charge sales director
Specialist lender Pepper Money has appointed Ryan McGrath (pictured) as its second charge sales director, taking over from Caroline Mirakian who departed for Aldermore.

In his role, he will focus on driving growth for the lender and its broker partners and also have to “maintain its market leading service levels”.

McGrath joins from Enra Specialist Finance where he was programme manager for nearly two years.

Prior to that, he worked at The Loans Engine for around 23 years as its chief executive and before that working at Lloyds Banking Group for around nine years, most recently as commercial banking officer.

Richard Spinks, chief commercial officer at Pepper Money, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ryan to the Pepper Money team to lead our continued growth in the second charge mortgage market.

“Ryan has a huge amount of experience in this sector, and his expertise will further enhance the proposition and experience we are able to offer to our broker partners.”

McGrath added: “The opportunity to join the leading lender in the second charge mortgage market was too exciting to pass up. I’m looking forward to working with the team to continue growing our lending and exceeding our brokers’ expectations when it comes to service and proposition.

“A second charge mortgage is often the most suitable solution for customers with a capital raising requirement – and even more so in an environment where rates have risen quickly and refinancing an entire mortgage balance onto a higher rate simply doesn’t make sense.

“At Pepper Money, we will be working alongside our broker partners to ensure their customers benefit from our fast and practical way of financing to achieve the goals they want.”
