Dudley BS makes Clever addition to introducer panel
Dudley Building Society has added master broker Clever Lending to its panel of introducers.

Clever Lending is a relatively new entrant to the market and since its launch in 2014 it has supported brokers dealing with first charge mortgages, second charge, commercial and bridging loans.

The move is aimed to extend Dudley’s reach in the market and Jonathan Moore, head of credit at the society, said: “Clever Lending has impressed us with its professionalism and the progress it has made in establishing itself as a top tier service provider to intermediaries since launching just two years ago.”

Paul Day, director of sales and development at Clever Lending, was delighted with the deal and welcomed the hands-on approach taken by Dudley to underwriting cases.

He commented: “Besides the competitive products, which cover the widest range of first charge residential requirements including BTL products, the society’s personal approach to underwriting will mean each case is reviewed by a human underwriter, which avoids the potential pitfalls often associated with technology based underwriting.”

Day was keen to advocate the role played by the wide range of smaller lenders in the market and he added: “Regional building societies like Dudley provide a much needed common sense approach to lending and I know our introducers and their clients will benefit from our new partnership.”

In recent weeks, Dudley has launched a new buy to let range with new products, rate reductions and criteria changes.

The society recorded pre-tax profit of £1.3m in the year ending April 2016 and lent £57.4m during the year.
