Octopus Property hires new head of servicing and legal
Specialist lender Octopus Property has recruited Emma Ryan (pictured) to the position of head of servicing and legal. Ryan joins from Amicus where she spent over six years as head of redemptions and in-house counsel, helping to grow the company from its inception.

Ryan’s appointment follows a number of significant hires that have been made recently including Nick McAuliffe becoming chief operating officer, Holly Harvey taking up the role of head of marketing and Matt Foley joining as development credit manager in the residential development team.

Mario Berti, CEO of Octopus Property, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Emma into Octopus Property. With our continued investment in our team and our product development, this appointment could not be more timely and Emma’s extensive experience will help us to deliver even better customer service which is at the heart of our business.”

Discussing ongoing development at Octopus Property, Berti added: “As part of our unique Lifecycle Lending proposition we have launched a range of new products to ensure that we offer competitively priced, flexible lending solutions to our borrowers. We will continue to grow the Octopus Property team so that our coverage, market knowledge and underwriting capacity remain first class.”

New products recently launched include an exit product that allows developers to refinance to Octopus Property and realise a percentage of their profits from a scheme without a waiting or ‘hold’ period.

Over the summer the lender also launched a new, cheaper residential development product with a low exit fee.

Since launching in February 2009, Octopus Property has grown its headcount significantly growth and completed over £2.6bn of lending across 2,500 loans. It lends across the commercial, residential and development markets.
