Recognise appoints finance and risk chiefs
Recognise Financial Services has announced new hires for the posts of chief financial officer and chief risk officer.

The lender is a subsidiary of City of London Group (COLG) and is awaiting the granting of a banking licence, with the aim of moving into lending to SMEs next year.

David Jenkins joins as chief financial officer, having previously been director of finance and capital management at Aldermore. In his former senior roles at Prudential, Lloyds and ABN Amro, he oversaw significant finance transformation programmes.

Patrick Ferguson has been recruited to the post of chief risk officer, having previously held the same post at Dunfermline Building Society, as well as spending nine years as risk strategy and planning director at Newcastle Building Society.

Jason Oakley, chief executive officer at Recognise, said the “impressive career profiles” of the two new hires added to the breadth of expertise across the firm’s top team, adding that they will “help continue to guide the business on the next step of our journey, towards achieving a full banking licence and entering the market”.

Recognise was established with an executive board under COLG chairman Philip Jenks (pictured), former deputy chair of Charter Court Financial Services Group.
