Together promotes Baguley and reports strong bridging activity
Specialist lender Together has promoted Chris Baguley to the newly-created role of group channel development director and has achieved the second consecutive month of over £100m in bridging lending.

In his new role, he will offer strategic support and launch new initiatives with the aim of building the firm’s brand across the commercial and personal finance markets.

Baguley will explore opportunities for growth across the lender’s established sales channels, and support the firm’s “ambitious growth objectives” in the next five years.

The company will also explore new markets.

Baguley joined the firm in 2006 and was most recently managing director of corporate.

Prior to working at the specialist lender he worked at Manchester Building Society for around seven years in senior roles including head of underwriting. He also worked at Yorkshire Bank for over nine years.

Marc Goldberg, CEO of group sales and distribution at Together said: “Chris is a long-standing and much-valued member of our senior team at Together, and we are incredibly excited to see him stepping into this new role.

“His experience, drive and passion for everything we do as a business will continue to be an asset to Together, and we are excited to see what he can bring to this new position.

“He will be ensuring that the Cheadle-based lender’s customers and partners remain at the heart of everything at Together, regardless of which channel they come through.”

Baguley added: “It’s a huge honour to be taking up this new post within such an amazing business and I am proud to have been part of the journey to drive this forward over the past 17 years”.

“I’m looking forward to exploring ways in which I can help deliver Together’s growth ambitions across the wider UK lending marketing; driving a collaborative approach across each business area in the group as we deliver on our plans for the next five years.

“This is an exciting time for the business as we look to develop our presence across the UK, and continue the incredible growth we have achieved in recent times.”

Together achieves second month of lending over £100m in bridging lending

Together has lent over £106m in short-term finance across the business, the second time this year the lender has reached this benchmark.

The firm originated new lending across 396 regulated and unrelated bridging transactions, with the combined average time for loans in the first quarter coming to 17 days for regulated transactions and 29 days for unregulated transactions.

Goldberg said that it was an “incredible achievement” and pointed to “huge demand” for this kind of finance despite the current economic climate.

He added: “It also demonstrates our commitment to provide the best possible outcomes for customers, as well as our exceptional service to our broker partners.

“We couldn’t have achieved this without the strong relationships we have with intermediaries, as well as the amazing dedication and support of our colleagues, who have all played their part in the success, enabling us to deliver to our business partners and our customers.”
