Secure Trust Bank originated around £40bn in bridging loans in the six months to June, a few months after launching the product.

This product expansion into bridging resulted in a 4.9% growth in its loan book to £3.5bn, as well as its home improvement proposition.

Secure Trust Bank also launched a bridging portal, which it said was supporting its pipeline growth by enabling digital applications and improving processing.

Some £90m of enquiries have been submitted through the portal so far, the lender said.

Its lending balances increased 5.3% to £1.9bn, compared with the end of last year, which it again attributed to “strong lending” in residential investment and momentum across its bridging range.

The bank’s performance led to a profit before tax of £31.3m, up 9.4% compared to the same period last year. Secure Trust Bank said this was down to higher average lending balances and a stable risk-adjusted market.

Ian Corfield, CEO of Secure Trust Bank, said: “In March this year, we set out a new set of strategic priorities and medium-term targets for delivery in FY 2028. I am pleased with the group’s growth in lending, profits and returns in the first half of 2026, which already reflects strong execution against our plans and reinforces confidence in our medium-term targets.

“The actions we have taken to reposition the group for sustainable growth and improved returns are delivering results and strengthening our ability to serve customers better and create long-term value for shareholders. The group remains on track to achieve its FY 2026 guidance.”
