Simon Cocker appointed as commercial director at The Lending Channel
A former regional director for the Bank of Scotland has been appointed as interim commercial director at The Lending Channel.

Simon Cocker worked at the Bank of Scotland for 15 years, rising to regional director, and also held senior roles at Dunfermline Building Society, where he was head of business development, and at Intelligent Finance as head of distribution.

In his new role at packager The Lending Channel, which specialises in secured loans, bridging and commercial finance, Cocker will spearhead the next phase of the company’s growth strategy.

Managing director Alistair Ewing said the timing is right to bring Cocker into the business to drive business forward.

“We have spent the last few years establishing the foundations of our business, and although we have grown over 500% since 2012, we feel that now is the time to bring someone of Simon’s calibre in to assist us with our planning and strategy,” said Ewing.

Cocker said the specialist finance market is well positioned for sustainable future expansion and is confident of achieving market growth.

The company is also currently recruiting for an additional telephone business development manager to build intermediary relationships.
