In a speech delivered in Bedford, Milliband said that the scrapping of the tax rate under former Prime Minister Gordon Brown had been a ‘very bad mistake’ that he was ‘determined to put right’.
He said that a tax on properties worth over £2m would help to pay for the move, something he dubbed the ‘progressive choice’. He said it would benefit some 25m basic rate taxpayers.
