Poll: Is Milliband’s proposed ‘mansion tax’ fair?
Labour party leader Ed Milliband has promised to introduce a new ‘mansion tax’ to fund a reintroduction of the 10p tax rate if his party wins the next election.

In a speech delivered in Bedford, Milliband said that the scrapping of the tax rate under former Prime Minister Gordon Brown had been a ‘very bad mistake’ that he was ‘determined to put right’.

He said that a tax on properties worth over £2m would help to pay for the move, something he dubbed the ‘progressive choice’. He said it would benefit some 25m basic rate taxpayers.

The latest Mortgage Solutions People’s Poll asks if you think such a move would be fair?
