Mortgage Solutions Star Letter Extra 30/01/2015
Each Friday, Mortgage Solutions takes a look back at the best reader comments on the website and letters to the editor.

Landlords lose West Brom tracker case

Amazed at the ruling…but not surprised. I think the final two paragraphs are very apposite and probably the easier route to gain recompense as a customer.

I would regard the way the product was marketed/sold with the heavy emphasis on the Tracker/SVR …and then the small print ‘override’ to be a clear case of mis-selling/sharp practice in a similar vein as the Interest Rate Swap Agreement (IRSAs) scandal that was so costly for many a small business.
I hope 118/Mark Alexander appeals as this truly does require thoroughly being tested…surely right has to prevail?

Which? equity release comparisons ‘pretty meaningless’ – IFS

It appears to me the person writing the report for ‘Which’ does not have a clear understanding of the mortgage market in general and certainly does not appear to have any understanding regarding options available under equity release schemes.
It appears they have their own journalistic interests at heart rather than those of the clients.

Mortgage holders risk financial hardship over sickness

Sickness insurance by definition has to be health not mortgage related, Any form of insurance work related, seasonal, contract, hourly paid, etc., immediately sends warning signals to study policy wording very carefully.
