Team raises over £11,000 in Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge for Crohn’s and Colitis UK
A group of mortgage professionals have raised over £11,000 for Crohn’s and Colitis UK after taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.

The 24-mile, 24-hour challenge covers the three highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

Pam Brown (pictured left), managing partner for Pam Brown Mortgages, lead the charity event, with employees from Mortgage Advice Bureau and Primis Mortgage Network also participating.

Brown’s son and daughter, Joe and Nina, also participated in the challenge. They both work with their mother at her mortgage business.

All the money will go to Crohn’s and Colitis UK which provides advice and support to those impacted by the inflammatory bowel diseases.

Brown has been an active voice for the charity since her son Joe was diagnosed with Crohn’s at the age of 13.

Last year, Pam and her team raised £22,00 for the charity.

“We’re so proud to have taken on the Three Peaks Challenge and to have exceeded our fundraising target,” said Brown.

“Every single day, someone messages me about Crohn’s disease, and we undertook this hike to help people realise how devastating and debilitating this disease is and how it affects your entire life.

“Knowing that we have paid someone’s wage to pick up the Crohn’s & Colitis UK helpline, to help research and find a cure, and to give advice to people who need support, makes it all worth it. We hope that our efforts will inspire others across the mortgage industry to get involved and raise vital funds.”

“We were honoured to participate in the Three Peaks Challenge alongside some fantastic professionals across the mortgage industry,” added Gordon Henderson, recruitment director, Mortgage Advice Bureau.

“While we’re proud of the contribution we’ve made through this challenge, it’s absolutely essential that we continue to raise awareness for charitable organisations such as Crohn’s & Colitis UK and the incredible work they are doing.”
