Housebuilding – and within that, new build – has come under increased scrutiny in the last few months.

The Labour Party, which won in a landslide at the election earlier this month, has pledged to build one-and-a-half million homes over the next four years and has brought back mandatory housing targets.

The government said that it would prioritise building on brownfield and grey belt sites and wanted to get Britain “building again”.

In her inaugural speech, Chancellor Rachel Reeves said that “decisive reform” was needed in the planning system, as many projects were being locked up in red tape, and more houses needed to be built.

That being said, we at Mortgage Solutions are curious as to how this renewed vigour for housebuilding is translating into the new-build sector.

So, this month Mortgage Solutions is asking: Are housebuilders offering more incentives to potential mortgage borrowers?
