Legal & General’s Mortgage Club held its first awards ceremony for member lenders and intermediaries, with Abbey National scooping the top award for best overall lender.
The awards, held in association with Mortgage Solutions, were based on the results of a survey in which members of the club were asked to judge lenders on service, products, e-commerce and overall improvement.
Abbey National came away with two awards ‘ the other for best e-commerce lender. Halifax won the best service award, Woolwich came out top for products and Northern Rock was named most improved lender.
Three intermediaries also took away awards. Bristol-based Falcon Group was awarded the top IFA trophy, Robinson & Jackson was named as the fastest growing club member and Mortgage Advice Bureau won the top business partner award.The MCCB said failure to refund fees is still by far the main cause of complaint against brokers
