1. How many brokers do you see in a week?
On average I will see between 11-12 companies a week which will have a range of individual advisers. It really does vary each week! If I were to hazard a guess, I would say on average 20+ individual brokers. I will also speak to around 40 over the phone so they do keep me on my toes.
2. What issues come up time and time again?
I do hear a lot about historic services issues but the world has changed over the last couple of years and continues to improve each week! We have worked exceptionally hard as a business to fix what is broken and we have made transformational improvements… We didn’t win ‘Best Bank for Mortgages’ this year for nothing!
3. Favourite part of your job?
My brokers, they are brilliant. I have made some amazing relationships with them and feel like they are an extension of my work colleagues. Like a big family.
4. Biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge is turning my laptop off when I should do and managing my time around my work and my son. Having a four year old and working full time can be difficult sometimes but any working mum will say the same.
I’m proud that he can see me working hard to achieve things and hopefully he will work just as hard as me when he grows up. I just need to make sure that I am there for him after school and work again when he’s in bed.
5. Strangest question you’ve ever been asked?
There’s never a silly question… If a silly question is being asked it’s normally me. It’s generally related to geography and any of my brokers reading this will know what I mean. This is why Sat Navs were created wasn’t it?
6. What do you wish brokers understood about your job?
I know my brokers understand the challenges all BDMs face and are really respectful of our roles. It would be great if they could see the level of hard work we all put in to ensure everyone is managed and answered in a timely manner. We are passionate people and we care about customers just as much as the brokers do.
7. Last film you saw at the cinema?
Night at the Museum 2 with my son
8. Least favourite sport?
Sport… I have a man in the house who has sport on every TV and radio channel, that’s enough for me. Now if you are talking Cheshire Wives or asking who is the best Kardashian sister then I might have an answer for you!

iPhone 6
10. Favourite biscuit?
If it has chocolate on it, I will eat anything, literally, anything!
