Cherryfind has urged advisers to join its proposition in greater numbers to enable it to represent the views of the vast majority of brokers on areas that affect the intermediary sector.

The firm said it needed to recruit more members to give it a united and strong voice, to ensure the value of advice was promoted and the interests of advisers were protected.

Donna Hopton, director of Cherryfind, said it wanted to promote the views of advisers as they were “insufficiently represented and often ignored”.

She commented: “We need to boost the number of advisers on Cherryfind so we can have a substantial community behind us and be vocal in presenting their views. Our aim is to do more to protect the interests of this very valuable community. The sector must stand up and be counted so we ask all advisers to join to ensure their voice is heard.”

Jock Cassidy, managing director of Ashley Law, said it was important that brokers had a website that was willing to work on their behalf and promote independent advice.

He added: “It sounds helpful for the smaller and less established firms as it can provide them with support in tough times but I think AMI will always be the main lobby group for brokers.”
