OpenConvey, the online conveyancing referral portal, has seen an increase in enquiries from intermediary businesses which have appointed representatives (ARs) or sales employees who are either home based or work away from a central head office.

OpenConvey, which owns and operates technology which links brokers to solicitors, believes larger brokerages and networks have seen the need to monitor the conveyancing decisions of their ARs because the longer reaching consequences of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) have become more apparent.

Steve Maine, managing director of OpenConvey, said networks have begun to see the importance of covering any likely fall out from future claims against them due to poor choice of legal representation.

He said: “Using OpenConvey provides just that facility and that is why we are having such a good response to our system from intermediaries with home based representatives or who work offsite.”
