Savills Lending Solutions (SLS), the specialist lending arm of Savills Private Finance (SPF), has launched a commercial debt division to meet demand from intermediaries who are struggling to place commercial enquiries.

The division, which will be based at SLS’s Southend base, will be run by director of SPF Neil Chambers.

Rob Jupp, director of SLS said that over the last 16 months, SLS became aware of a huge gap in the offering from most mortgage intermediaries when it came to placing commercial deals.

He said: “We decided, with our parent SPF, to expand our offering to include commercial debt funding. With Neil and his team on board, we now have the expertise to enable us to do this.”

Neil Chambers, director of SPF said: “Commercial enquiries can generate substantial income for advisers but this new service also ensures that intermediaries retain control of their client relationship, which, as the market recovers will be crucial.”
