The Executive Committee, the board of the CML, currently has 16 members and Street said it was an honour to join it at such an important time for the industry.

Street said: “So much has changed over the past few years and, while we are certainly on the path to recovery, there is still much more to do.

“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to help shape that recovery, both through the CML and the work that we are doing at Kensington. It’s not just intermediaries who need a strong mortgage sector. We owe it to our customers to build an industry that is able to provide home funding for people with a diverse range of circumstances in a responsible and sustainable way.”
