Openwork has split its recruitment and adviser support businesses ahead of the retail distribution review (RDR), it has announced today.

The network said the move will help its business development teams dedicate their time exclusively to helping advisers grow their own businesses.

Openwork will also provide promotional support and guidance for advisers who want help to market their businesses effectively.

A standalone, centralised function for adviser recruitment will be run by Keith Atkinson, who has joined from Citri to head up the team, in the newly created role of business acquisition director.

Mark Duckworth, managing director of distribution and marketing at Openwork, said: “With RDR looming large it’s vital to have the right infrastructure to help our advisers grow their businesses and offer the support they need to prepare for the most significant industry change in decades.”

Advisers will still have direct access to the network’s specialist RDR transition team to help them to develop business models and propositions and prepare for the transition to fees.
