Sesame Bankhall has launched an equity release referral service for its members, bringing on board four specialist adviser firms to look after clients best suited to later life options.

Age Partnership, Key Partnerships, Responsible Life and Largeequityrelease.com make up the panel which, after assessing the borrower, will take indemnity responsibility for all regulation and professional requirements.

Jane Benjamin (pictured), head of lender relationships at Sesame Bankhall Group, said: “The equity release market continues to grow due to the needs of many asset rich but income poor older homeowners, but it is a highly complex and emotive area.

“By introducing business, advisers are avoiding any risk and liability associated with writing this business themselves while at the same time enhancing their service to customers through referrals to experienced specialists in this area.”

Sesame Bankhall has made a number of additions to the services it offers members over recent months.

In an interview with Mortgage Solutions last month, sales director Mark Graves said it was piloting a life and protection desk for its brokers which would allow them to refer their leads to specialist advisers to improve sales.
