Property auction house Barnard Marcus Auctions has agreed to amend an advertisement on its website after a complaint was raised with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

The complaint centred on a piece of land which was due to be auctioned.

According to the complainant, the advertisement didn’t make clear that the land could only be accessed via third party land by foot or agricultural vehicle.

A spokesperson for the ASA added: “The complainant also felt that the ad did not give accurate information about the permitted use of land.”

When the issue was raised with Barnard Marcus Auctions, the firm agreed to amend the listing.

As a result, the ASA says the issue has been informally resolved.
