Just Mortgages has launched a new bespoke training programme for its large principal brokers.

The firm said that its training team had wanted to deliver support tailored to the needs of individual firms and its advisers, rather than adopt a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Elements of the training programme may include sales training and techniques, product knowledge, lead generation and social media, for example.

It can also incorporate further leadership training and compliance support for the principals themselves.

The training programme is designed to support larger principals with upwards of four brokers working within their businesses. It expands the training package available to existing principals, which covers induction as well as how to maximise the potential of a team.

In May, Just Mortgages welcomed five new graduates of its business principals leadership programme.

Just Mortgages noted that graduates from its self-employed academies are matched with suitable principals, in order to support growth plans while helping the graduates gain the mentoring and development opportunities they need.

Rodney Sloan (pictured), head of learning and development at Just Mortgages, said that it was important for the firm to help principal brokers develop both their business and the team around them.

He continued: “We identified that a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work. After all, business principals have a really good feel for their own businesses. By sitting down with them, we can better understand their needs, where to improve and where the team can be developed. We can then draw up a bespoke training plan to meet these objectives and deliver this across their business.”
