Nationwide will be lowering select mortgage rates by up to 0.2% across two, three and five-year fixed rates.

Nationwide said that mortgage rate changes will come into effect from 10 July.

Within its first-time buyer offering, reductions of up to 0.11% across two- and five-year fixed rate products up to 90% loan to value (LTV) have been made.

For example, its two-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 4.13%, a fall of 0.06%.

The lender’s five-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.19%, a decrease of 0.10%.

Nationwide’s five-year fixed rate at 90% LTV with no fee is 4.49%, a cut of 0.10%.

On the remortgage side, decreases of up to 0.11% across two-, three- and five-year fixed rate products up to 90% LTV will be made.

Examples include its two-year fixed rate at 80% LTV with a £999 fee at 4.44%, a fall of 0.05%.

The lender’s three-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with no fee is 4.60%, a cut of 0.10%, while its five-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.24%, a decrease of 0.09%.

Within its switcher range, Nationwide is also reducing selected two, three and five-year switcher rates up to 95% LTV by up to 0.20%, with rates starting from 3.84%.

Additional borrowing rates are being cut by up to 0.14% on two, three and five-year fixed products up to 90% LTV, with rates beginning from 3.84%.

Carlo Pileggi, Nationwide’s senior manager – mortgages, said: “We’re making further cuts across selected products from our fixed mortgage range to ensure that Nationwide continues to be front of mind for those looking to buy their first home, move to their next or who want to switch to a new deal.

“These latest cuts will particularly help first-time buyers and our existing members switching to new deals.”

 

HSBC to lower rates

High street lender HSBC will lower select residential and buy-to-let mortgage rates will decrease from 11 July.

It is the second time that the lender has lowered select fixed rates this week.

HSBC has confirmed that it will lower a range of its residential and buy-to-let rates from 11 July.

Within its residential first-time buyer and home mover range, two- and five-year deals up to 90% LTV will go down, along with deals in its residential existing customer switching and borrowing more.

The firm said that in its residential first-time buyer home mover energy efficient home range two- and five-year fixed rates, both fee-saver and standard deals up to 95% LTV will be lowered.

In its residential remortgage and remortgage cashback ranges, two- and five-year fixed rates up to 90% LTV will decrease.

Looking at its residential remortgage energy efficient home range and its cashback energy efficiency home range, two and five-year fixed rates up to 90% LTV will fall.

On the buy-to-let purchase side, two- and five-year fee-saver, standard and standard £3,999 fee up to 75% LTV will be cut.

In its buy-to-let existing customer switching and borrowing more range, select two- and five-year deals up to 75% LTV will decline.

Looking at its buy-to-let remortgage range, select two and five-year fixed rates up to 75% LTV will be lowered.

Within its international residential and buy-to-let range, two-year fixed fee-saver and two and five-year fixed standard and five-year fixed fee-saver up to 75% LTV will be cut.

 

Leeds BS slashes rates by up to 0.4%

Leeds Building Society will reduce select rates across residential, first-time buyer, shared ownership, buy-to-let, portfolio buy-to-let and interest-only deals by up to 0.4% from 10 July.

Examples include its residential five-year fixed rate at 95% LTV falling by 0.3% to 4.94%. It comes with free standard valuation, no fee payable upon completion, fees assisted in-house legal service for remortgages.

The lender’s three-year fixed rate at 95% LTV has been cut by 0.4% to 5.18%.

Leeds Building Society’s Income Plus five-year fixed rate at 85% LTV has fallen by around 0.3% to 4.99%.

The products come with no fee payable upon completion and free standard valuation.
