The firm said the DocDropbox feature would make the process faster, simpler and friction-free, reducing admin work for brokers and simplifying the client experience.
The updated feature will provide a fully automated onboarding and compliance process for brokers by reading and assigning documents to the right fields, ensuring records are accurate, complete and compliant.
This will enable brokers to transition to Smartr365 quickly and easily, with less friction.
Using DocDropbox, clients will be able to drag and drop their files onto the platform, without the need to send multiple documents to their broker for a mortgage or protection application.
These files would have previously been read, renamed, certified and stored, a process that Smartr365 said could be time-consuming and prone to errors.

When clients drag and drop documents onto Smartr365, the system will read, identify, and categorise documents and automatically match them to the client’s record.
Smartr365 said it would eliminate manual processing, creating a faster process and secure document handling.
Further, the document import feature recognises document types, labels them and assigns them to the right customer records automatically.
This will remove the use of fragmented systems and mean all information sits on one platform.
Damon Macklin, chief product officer at Smartr365, said: “DocDropbox removes one of the biggest pain points for brokers and their clients.
“Clients simply upload their files once, and Smartr365 takes care of the rest. It reads, categorises, and stores everything automatically – giving brokers more time to focus on relationships, not paperwork. This is what real AI integration looks like: speed, simplicity, and confidence, built directly into the workflow.”
Smartr365 is used by more than 5,000 mortgage brokers in the UK, and the firm has partnered with the likes of Sesame Bankhall Group, Legal & General (L&G) Mortgage Club, Just Mortgages Direct, and Openwork.
It is backed by investors including L&G, Experian, and Pembroke VCT, which provides financial stability and enables continuous innovation.
