Nationwide has implemented widespread increases across its mortgage range, affecting both new customers and existing members.

Among new member moving products, two-year fixed rates now start from 4.63% at 60% loan to value (LTV) with a £1,499 fee, while most products across the 75-95% LTV brackets have increased.

First-time buyer mortgages have also seen rises, with two-year fixed rates reaching 4.82% at 75% LTV and 4.97% at 90% LTV.

Aaron Strutt, products and communications director at Trinity Financial, said: “Nationwide’s cheapest two-year fix is going up from 4.48% to 4.63%, which is frustrating because it was one of the standout best buy rates and popular with borrowers looking for competitively priced shorter-term deals.”

The lender has also repriced its remortgage range, with two-year fixed rates rising to as much as 5.65% at 95% LTV and five-year fixes reaching 5.5%. Existing member products have been similarly affected, with increases across moving home, borrowing more and switching deals.

Meanwhile, switcher products now start from 4.66% for a two-year fixed deal at 60% LTV and rise to 5.65% for the 95% LTV option. Additional borrowing rates have also increased, with selected two-year tracker products now reaching 4.69% at 90% LTV.
