“During a career spanning more than 30 years, I’ve been passionate about the role financial services can play in improving people’s lives and supporting communities.
“While fellowship is a great personal honour, it also reflects the many talented colleagues, mentors and teams I’ve had the privilege to work alongside, both past and present. It is a reminder of the values that have guided us throughout that journey: acting with integrity, professionalism and purpose to help build a stronger, more sustainable future for our sector.”
Tanya Retter, CEO of the CBI, commented: “Simon’s Honorary Fellowship is a fitting recognition of his longstanding commitment to the values at the heart of our Institute: professionalism, lifelong learning and responsible banking.
“Throughout his career, Simon has demonstrated a clear commitment to customers, colleagues and communities, while helping to strengthen a resilient, trusted and future-ready profession. We are delighted to recognise his achievements and welcome him as an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute.”
