Martin Tullett has been appointed chief financial officer of BetterHome Group UK, bringing 20 years of experience to the role.

Tullett joins from Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), where he worked for seven and a half years, most recently as its group finance director. While at MAB, he was responsible for financial leadership, mergers and acquisitions, business transformation and the development of its finance function.

Tullett is a qualified chartered accountant and began his career at EY, before spending six years at Experian across several commercially focused roles.

BetterHome said his experience across two listed businesses and understanding of the mortgage intermediary market would be valuable in his new role.

At BetterHome, Tullett will lead the group’s UK finance function, support its strategic priorities, strengthen its financial and commercial capabilities and also create the foundations for its growth.

Rudi Botha, group CEO of BetterHome Group, said: “Martin brings an excellent combination of financial expertise, commercial judgement and direct experience of the UK mortgage intermediary market.

“Just as importantly, Martin brings an entrepreneurial spirit, great energy and a collaborative approach that align strongly with our culture. He shares our belief that people and strong teams are at the heart of a successful business, and I’m confident he will make a valuable contribution to our leadership team.”

Botha said that having the right leadership, financial discipline and capabilities was key as the group grew, and Tullett would be an “important asset”.

Tullett (pictured) said he was “delighted” to join the business at an exciting stage in its development.

He added: “From my first conversations with Rudi and the team, I was struck by the ambition for the business and the clear commitment to its partner firms, customers and people. That combination really resonated with me.

“I’m looking forward to working with Rudi and the wider team, bringing my experience to help build on the momentum already established, further strengthen our capabilities and contribute to the Group’s continued success.”
