Budget 2010: Cameron accuses Darling of plagiarism
David Cameron has accused Chancellor Alistair Darling of copying Conservative policy by removing Stamp Duty under £250,000 for potential homeowners.

The leader of the opposition claimed George Osborne first floated the idea in 2007.

Cameron also suggested a Treasury minister had already described the hike as not being an effective use of taxpayers’ money.

He said: “Once again, they’ve been caught taking the public for fools.”

Cameron also derided the mortgage support scheme for only helping 15 people at a cost of £66,000 each.
