The Association of Bridging Professionals (AOBP) has revealed it has had a strong take up in membership from across the bridging industry in its first four weeks.

The AOBP said firms which have taken membership include compliance experts, solicitors and law firms. Affiliate membership has also been taken by seven of the industry’s lenders, including Drawbridge Finance.

The AOBP is a not-for-profit trade body aimed at providing a unified voice for bridging professionals, including intermediaries, master brokers and packagers.

Lucy Barrett, executive committee member at AOBP and director of W&B Mortgages, said: “So far the Association has been extremely well received by both brokers and lenders, and we have made great progress in getting both on board with the concept.”

Mark Posniak, head of marketing and operations at Drawbridge, said: “Anything that will help improve the quality of business transacted and support brokers can only be a good thing. The proof will be in the months to come as the organisation progresses, and hopefully starts to build value.”

The AOBP has also announced it will be at the Mortgage Business Expo this week on 11 and 12 November to talk to delegates about what the organisation hopes to achieve.
