Sidney Cohen, a consultant for Masthaven and Former Association of Bridging Professionals (AoBP) chairman has died today, aged 82.

Cohen had worked within short term finance since 1998. Firstly joining bridging lender Cheval, where he was a director of marketing until 2005, later moving to Affirmative Finance and then acting as a consultant for Masthaven Bridging Finance.

Cohen was appointed chairman of the AoBP in 2010 at the Association’s launch.

Long-term colleague Benson Hersch, chief executive of the Association of Short Term Lenders (ASTL), said: “The members of the ASTL and I personally, were very sad to hear of the passing of Sidney Cohen this morning.

“I knew Sidney for 15 years. He played a pivotal role in the bridging industry for many years.

“He will be very sadly missed by all who knew him. Sidney was always a larger than life character, he loved the industry and was still working almost until the day that he died.”
