Steve Ellis promoted to head up Legal and General Home Finance
Legal and General Home Finance has appointed chief operating officer Steve Ellis to the post of managing director of the division.

Ellis (pictured) played a key role in the launch of Legal and General’s Home Finance division where he led the acquisition of New Life in 2014.

Ellis has worked for Legal and General Home Finance since 2007 running various operational areas in the firm’s corporate risk and annuities departments. Prior to his time at L&G, Ellis managed large-scale operations for outsourcing organisations and worked as a management consultant for GE Capital businesses in the UK and US.

Chris Knight, managing director, retail retirement at Legal & General, said: “I’m pleased that Steve has accepted the role of managing director for our retirement lending business. Steve’s appointment brings important continuity to Legal & General Home Finance as the business enters its next phase of rapid innovation and growth.”

Ellis added: “I’m delighted to be continuing the journey with our retirement lending business. We have some exciting plans for 2017 which we expect to help the market continue its strong recent growth.”
