Your Move estate agent offered sexual favours by female boss wins discrimination case
An estate agent who was offered sexual favours by his manager as a reward for hitting sales targets has won a sexual discrimination case.

According to reports, Sarah Thompson, a senior employee at Your Move’s Chessington regional office, made the proposition at a senior consultants’ reward lunch.

Paul Elworthy, a senior financial consultant at Your Move, told the employment tribunal that Thompson said she would reward him with a sexual favour if he earned £180,000.

Elworthy added that the comment made him feel uncomfortable and that he did not feel able to report it as she was his line manager and he would not get a fair hearing.

Thompson denied the claim, however it was supported by one of Elworthy’s colleagues who overheard the comment and asked if it applied to everyone?

The court was told that Thompson responded: “No, you’re married.”

Judges unanimously agreed that the comments were sexual discrimination as she would not have said them to a woman.

However, further claims of sexual harassment and constructive dismissal were rejected.

The level of compensation will be decided at a future hearing.
