Exclusive: Michelle Andrews confirmed as HSBC mortgages and savings boss
HSBC appointed Michelle Andrews its head of mortgages and savings at the beginning of June.

Andrews has worked in financial services for 20 years and most recently moved from Lloyds Banking Group in January 2016 where she was head of premier and international propositions.

She said: “I am delighted and privileged to be appointed to the head of mortgages and savings at such an exciting time for HSBC UK and the industry. I am looking forward to building on our excellent strategy in this key area ensuring HSBC plays a key role in further supporting the intermediary and direct to customer markets.

“I am a strong supporter of HSBC’s recent move into the intermediary market which remains fundamental to my strategic plans. I hope my customer passion will build on our vision to listen to our intermediaries and customers to ensure the service and support HSBC delivers exceeds expectations and becomes a platform for further growth for HSBC.”

HSBC has buy-to-let launch plans next year and is currently piloting its service and proposition with Countrywide through the Buy to Let Business, and London and Country.

In an exclusive interview with Chris Pearson, head of intermediaries at HSBC, he also revealed the bank is developing its product transfer proposition, digital platform and is keeping a watching brief on the next phase of Help to Buy and the new build market in general.
