KR Group and Mortgage Brain make key technology hires
KR Group, has appointed Charlie Moran as the adviser firm’s group data and business intelligence director, while mortgage technology firm Mortgage Brain has appointed Ken Deegan as its chief technical officer (CTO).

 

Mortgage Brain said Deegan (pictured) is an experienced senior IT professional and certified scrum master with a software engineering background, who had led a number of large-scale development functions previously for finance and Saas-based solutions. 

His earlier roles include head of information systems at Close Brothers Premium Finance, development manager at Fourth delivering Saas solutions to the hospitality industry, and 14 years at Central Bank of Ireland. 

Deegan is expected to help drive the business forward and lead the ongoing development and implementation of Mortgage Brain’s mortgage technology proposition.  

Deegan added: “It is gratifying to be part of a company that invests record amounts into its proposition and I’m delighted to be part of the leadership team to drive the business forward. This is a time of unprecedented interest and desire for technological advances within our industry which makes for exciting times.” 

 

KR Group

Moran (pictured left) joins KR Group following a history of roles across data warehousing and analytics within financial services and retail. Most recently he was the head of database and analytics at Sainsbury’s Bank and prior to this, Moran worked within Home Retail Group for more than 10 years in various senior leadership roles.  

At the KR Group, he will lead multi-functional delivery teams to provide insight and data services as well as be responsible for building the insight and data engineering capability by providing technical leadership for the insight and data community.

Moran will report directly to Rob Scott, chief finance officer. 

He said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining KR Group at such an exciting time.

“Harnessing our data with a robust, scalable infrastructure and powerful analytical tools are the building blocks for any data driven organisation and I’m looking forward to helping KR Group further realise the benefits to be gained.”
