Paradigm Mortgages has appointed Santander for Intermediaries former national key account manager, Richard Howes, as mortgages director to succeed John Coffield.
Howes (pictured) will take on the role from mid-July, with Coffield set to retire from the business at the end of August.
The mortgage distributor said that the start date would allow “seamless transition,” to take place and “ensure continuity,” for member firms, lender and provider partners.
Howes initially joined Santander in 1995 as an area sales manager for life and pensions, he then moved to Cater Allen to become a national key account manager covering mortgages, then the private banking space.
He then came to work at Santander for Intermediaries in 2015 as national key account manager.
Paradigm Mortgages Services chief executive officer Bob Hunt said: “It was always our aim to move quickly in terms of announcing a replacement for John and we are very pleased to be able to bring Richard on board in July, who comes with a huge amount of experience in the intermediary market and a drive to work for our member firms, lender and provider partners.”
He added that Coffield and Howes working together for six weeks would allow Howes to fully immerse in his new role and responsibilities, and ensure that he can hit the ground running, which would benefit stakeholders.
