Metro Bank CFO resigns
David Arden, chief financial officer (CFO) at Metro Bank, will leave the business on 1 April and step down from the board with immediate effect.

 

Arden has worked at the bank for four years. Prior to this, he was CFO at Sainsbury’s Bank for six years and before that was CFO at Shop Direct Shop for nearly two years. 

Deputy CFO Marc Jenkins will take over the responsibility of the bank’s finance function from today while it recruits an interim CFO. Metro said the process has commenced and a further announcement made in due course. 

The bank’s board will comprise of 10 members until a successor is appointed. 

Arden will receive Metro’s approved remuneration and once this is finalised, details will be disclosed on its website. 

The bank also said its financial results would be announced on 23 February and was “expected to be in line with management expectations”. 

Daniel Frumkin, chief executive of Metro Bank, said: “On behalf of the board I would like to thank David for the important work that he has done to strengthen Metro Bank’s financial controls over the past two years.  

“He has played an instrumental role in helping to deliver the bank’s strategic priorities and turnaround plan and leaves with our best wishes for the future.”
