Halifax has created a tool to help mortgage advisers encourage their clients to make their homes more environmentally friendly.
The home energy saving tool (HEST) was developed with Energy Savings Trust and produces tailored recommendations to reduce the environmental impact of a client’s property.
Using the tool, mortgage advisers can suggest renovations which will make a home more energy efficient and the savings from which the homeowner can benefit. It will also let clients know if additional borrowing may be needed to fund these changes.
