Legal and General appoints Plews as head of product and proposition for retail protection

Legal and General has appointed Nicki Plews as its head of product and proposition for retail protection.
Plews joins from Munich Re, where she was a business development director and responsible for managing key client accounts, driving innovative solutions and identifying business opportunities.
She has more than 16 years’ experience in the sector and formerly worked at AIG Life and Swiss Re under various senior roles including head of strategy, head of proposition and senior product manager.
At Legal and General, Plews will be responsible for shaping, leading and implementing the firm’s protection product and proposition strategy. She will also develop and deliver innovative and customer-centric products and propositions to meet the evolving needs of consumers across all distribution channels.
Pippa Keefe, commercial director of retail protection at Legal and General Retail, said: “I am delighted to welcome Nicki to our team. She brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge in the protection market and a strong customer focus. We’ve already made great strides in further developing our protection products and proposition, with the most recent updates made to our critical illness proposition earlier this year.
“She will play a key role in further enhancing our retail protection offering and ensuring we continue to provide market-leading solutions that meet the needs of our customers and intermediaries.”
