Alison Pallett, sales director at Nottingham Building Society, has announced her retirement after 42 years in financial services.

Pallett will depart from her role in March 2025 and be succeeded by Matt Kingston.

Pallett joined the mutual in November 2022 and has been instrumental in launching products that have strengthened Nottingham Building Society’s position in the mortgage and first-time buyer markets with more specialist offerings.

This includes wider support for foreign nationals and leading the intermediary sales team through new opportunities.

This year, Pallett was acknowledged by Mortgage Solutions at the British Mortgage Awards when she was given the Bharat Sagar Lifetime Achievement Award.

Over her career, Pallett has worked at later life lender LiveMore and the Bank of Ireland, where she was for 25 years.

Pallett (pictured) said: “Working with Nottingham Building Society has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. It’s been incredible to see the business make real strides in the mortgage market and broaden our reach to support first-time buyers, particularly with the launch of our foreign nationals mortgage offering earlier this year.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved, and I know Matt’s leadership will only drive us further forward. His passion for our mission and commitment to our brokers and customers make him the perfect fit.”

Kingston is currently the head of national sales at Nottingham Building Society and will move into Pallett’s role in March. He has over a decade of experience in sales leadership, including managing the business development manager (BDM) team and supporting brokers.

Nottingham Building Society said his appointment came at a “critical time” for the mutual as it continued to maintain and strengthen relationships with brokers.

Kingston will play a key role following Nottingham Building Society’s recent rebrand and evolution into a specialist lender by supporting the needs of brokers and clients.

Kingston added: “I’m honoured to be taking on this role at such an exciting time. Under Alison’s leadership, we’ve made a real difference for our broker partners and our customers, and I look forward to continuing that work. My focus will be on expanding our support for prospective homeowners, and delivering the commitment, as part of our rebrand, to continue our evolution into a specialist lender.

“Together with our talented team, I’m excited to see how we can continue to grow and make homeownership accessible for more people.”
