Serviced apartments are proving an increasingly popular diversification strategy for property investors, according to broker Coreco.

Speaking on Specialist Lending Solutions Television in association with Aldermore, Coreco specialist finance partner Matthew Yassin said he was seeing more business in this area.

And he noted that it came with benefits in lending terms that may not otherwise be available.

He said: “We’re seeing a lot of serviced apartments, which if you’re chasing yield allows you to match your expectations.

“And with the right lender you can get those loan to values (LTVs) higher than you otherwise would with an assured shorthold tenancy (AST) and a buy-to-let mortgage in place.”
