Alternative Bridging Corporation has hired Robin Turnbull, formerly at Amicus Finance, as its head of underwriting.
In his role he will lead the underwriting team and assist in providing decisions across its short-term finance proposition. This currently covers regulated, residential commercial, light refurbishment, development finance and heavy refurbishment bridging loans as well alternative overdraft and alternative term loan products.
He takes over from Richard Claypole, who took on the role earlier this year and is now a senior case manager at United Trust Bank.
He was previously head of bridging and commercial at Amicus Finance for nearly seven years, and prior to that he was senior underwriter for just over a year.
Before that he was a private contractor at Clayton Euro Risk Management for just under a year, and worked at Clydesdale Bank for 14 years in various roles including senior mortgage underwriter and area manager for private banking.
Stephen Meller, director at Alternative Bridging Corporation, said: “I’d like to welcome Robin to the team. He has a huge amount of experience and expertise in bridging, development and commercial finance and will play an important role in helping us to further enhance the excellent service we provide to our intermediaries.”
The firm has been adding to its team in recent months, hiring Kalpna Patel to its underwriting team and Maria Mcilroy as a case manager in August.
