Avamore Capital adds to senior team
Avamore Capital has announced two internal promotions to its senior team.
Chris Newman has been promoted to the role of head of underwriting, having previously been a senior underwriter at the lender. He takes over from executive director Philip Gould.
Meanwhile, Adam Butler moves from senior relationship manager to head of sales.
Both joined Avamore in early 2020, with the lender stating they had acted “commercially and tenaciously” to get deals completed during a particularly challenging time for the market.
Avamore said both Newman and Butler had taken on greater responsibility within their teams, which have respectively seen recent expansions of around 50 per cent.
The promotions follow a structural revamp at Avamore, which the lender says is designed to assist in reaching its growth targets. As a result, Avamore now has an executive leadership team made of up of Gould alongside recent joiners D’mitri Zaprzala and Alan Margolis, both of whom hold the title of managing director.

Zaprzala (pictured) said both Newman and Butler had been “integral parts of the business” which had led to their new roles, praising Butler for being a “leader in all but name” prior to the promotion.
He added: “[Newman] has been a role model for the whole team in terms of the quality and consistency of work. He holds himself to an incredibly high standard and that sentiment has naturally spread across the team; he will no doubt continue to build on the infrastructure we have in place and shape an efficient, diligent and customer focused underwriting department.”
