Paragon SME Lending has hired four business development managers (BDM) who will work across its transport, regional and broker teams.

Jamie Thompson and Craig Nel have been recruited to work with the transport team as BDMs under Dale Trenam.

Thompson will focus on the bank’s dealer finance proposition, working with dealers to find “suitable finance solutions”.

He most recently worked as regional sales manager at Mistral for two years, and was a BDM at Huxley Corporate Finance prior to that.

Nel joined the Paragon team after spending just under a year at Deutsche Leasing UK and Ireland. Before that he was an area sales manager at BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions for four years.

Gulshan Khan has joined the broker team as a BDM and Jake Harfield has been promoted to the role of business development executive. Both will work under Ian Galbraith, head of broker.

Harfield has worked at Paragon for around three years and before the promotion was business development associate.

In the regional team, Lauren Cargill has been promoted to business development executive and Wayne Hall has joined the team as a BDM. They will report to Peter Pike.

Cargill has worked at Paragon for just over four years, most recently as business development executive. Prior to that she was a team leader at HSBC for nearly five years.

Hall joins from Shire Leasing where he was a vendor sales manager for around two years, and before that was head of client relations at Energise.

They will both focus on the southern regions.

Paragon SME Lending sales director Ken McKeating said: “These new recruits are a sign of intent from Paragon. We are keen to grow our lending activity and to support our direct customers and brokers even further.

“We look forward to the recent additions to our team getting out into the market and helping to deliver on our growth strategy.”
