Kensington Mortgages hires Burwood as BDM
Specialist lender Kensington Mortgages has appointed James Burwood as business development manager (BDM) for East Anglia and Essex.

Burwood has worked at Natwest as a BDM for nearly seven years, initially joining as a telephone BDM covering the East Anglia area.

He takes over from Andrew Heath and joins the 11-strong BDM team.

Burwood said: “I’m happy to share that I’ve started my new role as a BDM at Kensington Mortgages covering East Anglia and Essex.

“After six and a half years at a high street bank I am really excited to be stepping into the specialist lending market and can’t wait to get going.”

A busy 2022 for Kensington

Kensington Mortgages has been operating in the specialist lending space for over 25 years, with a planned merger with Barclays due to go ahead and awaiting regulatory approval.

The merger was reported earlier last year, with Barclays using funds associated with Blackstone Tactical opportunities and Sixth Street to fund the acquisition.

Kensington Mortgages has partnered with the likes of Proportunity and Even and has teamed up with Rothesay to launch a long-term fixed rate mortgage.

The lender’s new business head Craig McKinlay retired near the end of last year and the firm has hired Adam Sheldon as its national account manager.

Kensington Mortgages is also understood to be planning a tracker mortgage launch.
