Hampshire Trust Bank and UTB make BDM appointments – round-up
Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) has appointed Alex McMillen as business development manager (BDM) within its bridging division.

He will operate in the London and home counties regions and be responsible for relationships with introducers in these areas.

McMillen has over 10 years’ experience in the mortgage sector and moved over from HTB’s specialist mortgage division where he was a lending manager for nine months.

He has also previously worked at Magellan Homeloans and Bluestone Mortgages.

McMillen said: “This year is going to be about improving our brand awareness, educating brokers on our systems and process and establishing ourselves as a ‘go to’ bridging lender within the market.

“We have an amazing bridging proposition and I’m looking forward to getting out on the road to discuss how we can help brokers with their clients’ cases.”

Jamie Jolly, director of bridging at Hampshire Trust Bank, added: “I’m very pleased to welcome Alex to the bridging team at Hampshire Trust Bank. The fact that he is not new to HTB is a real boon and means he will be hitting the ground running.

“Over recent months, we have put the finishing touches to the new HTB bridging team, with speed and flexibility at the forefront of our proposition. We’re looking to increase our market share this year and providing a smooth customer journey is key to achieving this.”

UTB hires BDM for the Midlands and North West

United Trust Bank (UTB) has hired Michael Macleod as BDM to its bridging sales team.

He will be based in Manchester and look after brokers in the Midlands, North West of England and Scotland. Macleod will work alongside and report to the lender’s bridging key account manager, Paul Delmonte.

Macleod has worked in finance for more than a decade and has held a number of sales and credit function roles at companies such as Together, Ford Credit Europe and most recently, peer-to-peer real estate lending platform EstateGuru Marketplace.

Delmonte said: “Michael has joined UTB Bridging at a very exciting time with demand for our competitive products and great service continuing to grow by the day.

“The Midlands and North West is seeing considerable growth and regeneration and there’s an excellent opportunity for UTB to build new relationships with the many experienced brokers operating across the region as well as further develop our existing contacts by helping them to grow their businesses and ours.”

Macleod added: “UTB have a great reputation in the bridging market both for the way they do business and the culture they encourage. I also believe that there is a significant opportunity to develop their share of the unregulated bridging sector and their presence amongst brokers in the Midlands, North of England and Scotland

“I’m looking forward to working with Paul and the rest of the team in helping the Bank achieve its impressive growth ambitions.”
