Specialist lender Somo Bridging has hired Andrew Marsland as relationship director for Wales.
In his role, Marsland will split his time between the lender’s head office in Manchester and meeting broker clients in Wales to advise and promote its bridging proposition, which includes valuation-only and second charge mortgages.
He joins from Positive Lending where he was a regional account manager for nearly two years and before that was a business development manager (BDM) at Paylink Solutions for around two years.
Earlier in his CV, Marsland was a BDM for Evolution Money for over two years, following a stint as underwriting relationship manager for nearly three years.
Marsland added: “Joining such an innovative business in a fast-growing industry is really exciting. It’s a totally different way of working for me. We get the freedom to find ways to offer deals that don’t fit the standard lending criteria.
“This means we can look at each individual situation, talk through the options with brokers and if it’s safe and viable, make an offer.”
He continued: “Somo is renowned for accepting more challenging cases, based on unique circumstances. And with the kind of loans we deal with, we have to act fast. With Somo’s data, technology and solutions focused approach, we’re receiving an enquiry and getting a decision back to the broker within an hour. “
