Specialist lending brokerage Watts Commercial Finance has appointed Matthew Murphy as its commercial manager, covering Chester, Wirral, North Wales and surrounding areas.

Murphy has more than 14 years of experience in the banking sector, and spent seven years at HSBC, most recently as a corporate relationships director. Prior to that, he worked at RBS for seven years, with his most recent role being portfolio manager.

He has experience managing relationships with SME and corporate clients across various sectors.

At Watts Commercial Finance, he will develop and manage partnerships with clients within the region he will be overseeing.

The firm said Murphy’s appointment would strengthen its positions in the regions, adding that he would have a “positive impact” on its team and the firm’s clients.

Phil Gray, managing director at Watts Commercial Finance, said: “We are delighted to welcome Matthew to the Watts Commercial Finance team. His extensive experience and proven track record make him the ideal candidate to lead our operations in Chester, Wirral, North Wales and beyond.

“It’s a privilege to be joining such an experienced and successful team, and I aim to use my own experience and network to help Phil and the team continue to grow the Watts Commercial business in these regions.”
