Specialist lender Shawbrook has made three new hires in its structured real estate team, which supports professional investors looking for larger commercial, buy-to-let (BTL) and bridging loans.

The structured real estate hires include Karan Doshi and Tirath Singh, senior relationship managers, along with Bethany Smith, assistant relationship manager.

Doshi joins from Arbuthnot Latham, where he was a senior commercial banker for just under a year. Before that, he was a commercial business manager at State Bank of India UK for around two years.

Prior to that, he was a relationship manager for corporate banking and commercial real estate at ICICI Bank for around three years. He has also held senior roles at RBL Bank and Yes Bank.

Singh previously worked at United Trust Bank as a director for property development for over a year, and before that, he was a relationship manager for more than a year.

Prior to that, he held senior roles at Assetz Capital and BCRS Business Loans.

The firm said that their “expertise and skills in originating, structuring, and executing complex transactions” strengthened the team and would increase and grow their capabilities and reach when “delivering tailored funding solutions for complex portfolios”.

Smith joins from Butterfield Mortgages, where she worked for around six years, initially as a client relationship officer and then as an assistant relationship manager.

She previously worked at Al Rayan Bank for around two years, starting as a branch customer service adviser and then taking on the role of relationship manager support officer.

‘We continue to be well-positioned’

The structured real estate team was launched earlier this year and caters for professional property investors looking for commercial and BTL loans over £5m and bridging loans of more than £2.5m.

Piragash Sivanesan, director and head of structured real estate at Shawbrook, said: “I’m delighted to further enhance our structured real estate team with three fantastic new hires.

“Our focus as a team is to build strong relationships with both our brokers and customers to ensure we get to the heart of their needs and can support them with tailored solutions that deliver positive outcomes.”

He continued: “Our new additions mean we are able to extend our lending capacity and continue to deliver a personalised service that is important when dealing with big-ticket lending.

“We continue to be well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of our clients and help them achieve their property investment goals.”
