Bridging lender SDKA has appointed Chris Simpson as an underwriter in an expansion of its customer-facing team.

Simpson joins from Together, where he has held a similar role since June 2022, and before that was a lettings manager at Sequence for two years. Prior to this, Simpson worked at Countrywide for three years as a senior negotiator.

At SDKA, Simpson will work with brokers, direct applicants, surveyors and legal professionals to ensure applications are completed in a timely manner.

He has become the sixth member of SDKA’s underwriting team and will report to Chris Edwards, head of underwriting.

Kunal Mehta, managing director of SDKA, said: “We are a people-based business; every application that comes into the market will be looked at individually by the underwriting team, and we will speak with every applicant directly to understand their projects.

“For this approach to be successful, we must have the right people, and Chris, with his wide-ranging experience across the finance and property spectrums and a hugely personable personality, fits our customer approach seamlessly.”
