Elmaz (pictured) has over two decades of experience in financial services and has worked at Together for over 10 years.
She initially joined the firm as a business development manager (BDM) for Central London and worked her way up to become managing director of intermediary sales.
Prior to that, she was a business development director at Alternative Bridging Corporation and also worked at Bradford & Bingley.
The BDLA now has six board members – Elmaz, Alan Margolis, Gavin Seaholme, Ray Cohen, Scott Marshall and Roz Cawood – and the maximum term is two years.
The aim of the trade body is to grow the size and reputation of the bridging and development lending industry.

The BDLA is closing in on 100 lender and associate members, representing a collective loan book of more than £13.7bn.
Elmaz said: “I’m delighted to join the BDLA board and contribute to the important work the association is doing to raise standards and promote professionalism in our industry.
“At Together, I am always looking to strengthen broker relationships through education and practical guidance, and I’m passionate about finding solutions for complex scenarios and helping intermediaries navigate the specialist lending landscape. I believe this drive will really help to take the association forward.
“The bridging and development sector plays a vital role in supporting property projects across the UK, and I look forward to working with my fellow board members to champion best practice and drive positive change.”
Adam Tyler, the BDLA’s new CEO, said “Tanya is going to be a real asset to the BDLA board. We have worked alongside on a number of occasions and at different events. She has a real enthusiasm for the industry and will certainly bring that to the board, along with her knowledge, experience and forward thinking, and I am really looking [forward] to working with Tanya again.”
